How we helped Rogers

Rogers engaged Paralucent to build a pilot mobile application that helps Small Business customers navigate the features of their new Blackberry mobile devices. The goal was to help reduce the number of "device setup and usage" related calls from new customers to the customer service department, by providing solutions to the most frequently asked questions. Rogers required the solution to host a series of video tutorials explaining the special and lesser known features of the devices and a webservice that would capture and display survey results to help gauge the pilot's success.


Paralucent addressed the challenges right away. The team met with Rogers to determine the proper platform for the videos and create mock-ups for the different Blackberry devices being supported. It was determined that some content could create issues, and if not resolved, would have added unnecessary costs to the project. Furthermore, it was decided that the tutorials could be useful on additional devices outside of the original scope.


The results? Paralucent delivered a mobile application that worked on multiple devices and was able to handle the challenging content requirements. They also were able to deal with scope changes arising from additional Blackberry devices being included in the project. This was all done while keeping the time lines short and avoiding any extra costs.

How we helped BMO

BMO asked Paralucent to build an IT solution that could streamline existing manual business processes while increasing communication between their internal and external customers. An additional challenge was finding ways to aggregate online information so that it was always current and easily accessible.


The Paralucent team went to work. Their first step was to work with BMO's team to untangle the existing work flow. Paralucent determined a number of ways to replace the manual operations and utilize email capabilities more effectively. Taking the time to understand their client's challenge, Paralucent was also able to map out the necessary solution for maximizing usage of their important data.


The results? Paralucent developed a sleek solution for BMO that saved time and decreased errors. They also designed a customer communication channel to provide faster and more effective retrieval of all transaction data. Paralucent helped BMO leverage their current infrastructure to ensure that business customers were able to quickly get up-to-date and relevant information.

Our solution for First National

When creating and interactive tool for their website, First National knew they needed a partner who understood the financial industry and would deliver the solution on time and on budget. They asked Paralucent.


First National wanted to simplify an offline financial process and convert it to an easy to use online tool. Paralucent proceeded to review and understand First National's offline financial process - clarifying and documenting all elements of existing workflow.


The results? Paralucent delivered a streamlined online solution, which calculated financial results with ease and accuracy. This powerful tool allows First National's clients to quickly access the information they needed to make a decision that's right for their business.

How we partnered with University of Toronto

As Canada's largest university, the University of Toronto is renowned for its groundbreaking research, teaching and innovative educational initiatives. The University's need for an enhanced online collaborative network led them to seek assistance from a knowledgeable and reliable vendor - Paralucent.


The Paralucent team went to work. Paralucent understood the importance of bringing the University's members together to share information and, providing them with an opportunity to network online.


The results? Paralucent built an interactive web-based service which allowed the University's members to keep track of contact information, event registrations and the opportunity to collaborate on reading and research projects.

How we collaborated with St. Michael's

When St. Michael's Hospital refreshed their corporate brand, they recognized the need for additional resources to ensure the update was consistently implemented across all media. If they brought in external resources, how would they integrate the internal and external experts to ensure the project's seamless execution?


The Paralucent team was invited to collaborate on the project and they quickly went to work. First, the Paralucent team knew that the key to success was understanding the internal culture and developing a collaborative relationship between the working teams. In addition, Paralucent needed to ensure St. Michael's that normal business activities would not be compromised even though the project was under tight deadlines.


The results? Paralucent was able to effectively augment St. Michael's team to ensure that data was appropriately reorganized without disrupting day-to-day business activities. Paralucent delivered the necessary solutions by working with their business partners. This built a trusting professional relationship that resulted in the project's successful and timely completion.
